School District No. 17-Longmont

School District No. 17-Longmont was the second largest school district in the county behind the Boulder school district. It was formed in 1871 but there are no extant census records for this district before 1883. Willis A Warner was the Secretary of the district that year, and these are some of the families whose children attended the school: Abbot, Brooks, Bemis, Buckingham, Cantonwine, Clark, Crawford, Daughtry, Epperson, Ferguson, Golden, Huyck, Hatch, Lang, Merriman, O’Connor, Preston, Silver, Tallman & Wiswall.
